# Stakeholder concerns and architectural aspects

The subclause addresses stakeholder concerns and the architectural aspects that respond to them. It builds on concern (3.4.9), stakeholder (3.4.7), aspect (3.3.7) and stakeholder perspective (3.4.8).

## What this unit settles

The pairing is the discipline at the centre of the practice: a concern belongs to a stakeholder, an aspect belongs to the entity, and the architecture has to connect the two. The document gives worked examples of concerns in its notes, including the taxi aggregator example with driver, rider and regulator concerns, which shows that concerns are specific and can conflict.

## What to do in your practice

Build a two column matrix: stakeholder concerns down one side, entity aspects across the top. Mark where each concern is addressed and by which aspect. The empty cells are the questions the architecture does not answer, and they are the most useful output of the review.

## Who it binds

The organisation and the architecture practice. This unit is not a shall requirement; the claim level states what it is.

## Evidence an auditor or regulator asks for

- The concern to aspect matrix with the addressing artefact.
An auditor asks how each concern is addressed.

- The list of unaddressed concerns with an owner.
Shows the gaps are known and owned.

- A record of conflicting concerns and the trade off made.
Shows the architecture handled conflict rather than avoiding it.

- The review date.
Keeps the matrix live.

Ask your teamWhich concern in the register is addressed by no aspect of the architecture?

## Common gaps this page catches

- Concerns are listed and never connected to the architecture.

- Aspects are modelled and never traced to a stakeholder concern.

- Conflicts are resolved informally and not recorded.

## What to prepare before publication

Build the matrix for one entity. Use the concern register and the aspect list. The empty cells become the agenda for the next design authority.

## Common questions

What does Stakeholder concerns and architectural aspects mean in ISO 42024?
The subclause addresses stakeholder concerns and the architectural aspects that respond to them. It builds on concern (3.4.9), stakeholder (3.4.7), aspect (3.3.7) and stakeholder perspective (3.4.8).
What evidence should we keep for 4.5?
The concern to aspect matrix with the addressing artefact. The list of unaddressed concerns with an owner. A record of conflicting concerns and the trade off made.
